night music
a storm-dropped minstrel
skips half-notes off the surface of sidewalk ponds
puddle music
lulla-jazz-abies
his street light lit saxophone
accompanied only by the
drip
drip
drip
of leftover afternoon rain
and in the morning
ReplyDeleterobin song
spring peeper peeps
woodcock buzzes
and then
toad trill
for the first time
this rainy spring season
lovely second stanza!
ReplyDeleteThis is great ....especially these lines:

They have hooked me....wish I'd written them!!
Thanks!
