maaliskuu you make me happy
the way you come madly dancing in
donning green wellies and
slippingslappingslopping your way
over ice rinks turned mudflats
leaving puddleprints in your wake
shine-sun sunshine, shifting slanting sideways now
winking at snowdrops, born from teardrops,
and drawing my eye from that
red beer cup sleeping on a gritty memory of snow
meanwhile rosie, only and already 3
stomps in her redboots beside me
chanting
poop-poop-poop
to home to home we go

ReplyDeleteDanielle, do you have a book of your poems? I would love to buy one of you do.
ReplyDeleteOh.....and.....mita kuuluu? :~)))
Sorry about the delete....got my spelling wrong!
Hi Helen
ReplyDeleteI don't have a published book of poems. Only thing that comes close is "Uncommon Magic: 30 Years of Writing from the Ban Righ Writers Group" edited by Christina Decarie and published by Upstart Press (http://upstartpress.blogspot.ca/) in which I have 3 poems. And - I'm fine thank you - and you? (I don't really know any Finnish - just found and love "Maaliskuu". Thank you for all your kind comments. I'm inspired to post more!
